Trombley Sr. (USAF Major, Retired), arrived in Anchorage in 1964 and, after retiring from the U.S. Air Force, founded Pioneer Paper Company. Adam's grandmother, Rita Trombley, was a highly respected Registered Nurse at the Alaska Native Medical Center and the Recovery Room of the new hospital is dedicated to her. Adam's father graduated from East Anchorage High and attended Alaska Methodist University (now APU). He then attended St. Louis University Medical School, during which time he met his wife Marie Nell, who was a nursing student, Registered Nurse program, at Barnes Hospital School of Nursing. After completing his Family Practice Residency training and military service, Dr. and Mrs. Trombley returned home in 1979 and he has practiced family medicine in Anchorage since then. He has delivered three generations of Anchorage babies in his years as a Family Physician. Adam's mother has worked in nursing and managed a very successful home-based business.
